Rocky the dog who has been chained most of his life found a new home! :) http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/thebigblog/archives/163290.asp By Hector Castro. Rocky the dog has a new home. The old gray dog, who became the face of chained dogs all over King County in a Feb. 25 Seattle P-I article, has been adopted by a Roy couple who read the article and, like many other readers, felt moved to help Rocky. So, Diana Crimi found the owners at their Enumclaw home, and persuaded them that Rocky would enjoy a better life living at the Crimi home in Roy, with an acre and a half of fenced backyard in which to roam. After spending most of his time tied up in a backyard, in all weather, Rocky spent his first night at the Crimi home sleeping on a doggy bed in a clean, dry garage empty of any bothersome cars. Rocky, about 14 years old, will join five other dogs that Crimi has rescued. Crimi said she plans to introduce Rocky to all her dogs one by one, and eventually allow him to join the other dogs in the house. But where Rocky lays his head will be up to him. "He can sleep wherever he wants," Crimi said. "My goal is to let him have his last years with another pack of dogs and people and love and attention, and just take good care of him." Rocky has some medical problems including a limp, a sore near his ear, and he appears underweight. Crimi said she plans to take him to see a vet soon, but she wanted to give him a day to get used to his new surroundings first. "We'll give him a day or two to rest and settle in before we start the bathing, worming and all the other goodies that will make him feel better and be a healthy dog," Crimi said.
